Hello! The gender of a God is such an interesting topic to me. My daughter is studying to be an Episcopal priest and when she reads my work gendering God female she calls it "lesbian core," as a throwback to earlier waves of feminism that sought to insert the feminine into general societal narrative by simply inserting "she" where previously "he" was used to connote a genderless entity. It's not quite my point in this piece. I see God as both male and female but since our society genders God male and as separate from his creation, I gender her female more as a statement of God existing everywhere, in all things, a verb rather than a noun, and female rather than "it" or " they" but possibly "us." Language being woefully inadequate here!
